Overview
Chino is a junior partner in the firm’s Litigation, Labor and Immigration Practice Groups. He is the head of the Data Privacy Practice Group. He conducts seminars, breach management training and privacy impact assessment tests for clients. He advises clients on litigation avoidance and risk management on all aspects of labor law. He has vast experience in all areas of commercial and criminal litigation, intellectual property laws, employment disputes, and corporate rehabilitation.
Representative Work
- Advised and guided several clients with their registration, compliance and reportorial requirements with the National Privacy Commission
- Advised and implemented plans for the handling and reporting of data privacy breaches to the National Privacy Commission
- Successfully defended a major Philippine manufacturing company against a claim of alleged labor-only contracting at the Labor Arbiter, National Labor Relations Commission and Court of Appeals levels at a time when Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Department Order No. 174 was being strictly implemented
- Successfully defended a manufacturing company at the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA) against an almost PhP30,000,000.00 claim from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) for alleged tax liabilities
- Successfully secured a reversal on appeal of a finding of alleged labor-only contracting against one of the country’s largest developer, producer, and distributor of agricultural products
- Secured a favorable ruling for a client involving trademark registration against a well-known media conglomerate
- Advised the transnational acquisition projects in connection with the business process outsourcing services of client
- Secured favorable results for clients in labor cases and commercial disputes, as well as in litigation involving substantial monetary claims for and against clients, protecting those results in the appellate courts
