Overview
KQ is a partner with the Firm’s Litigation and Labor Practice Groups. She co-heads the Immigration Practice Group. She is a Member and Trained Arbitrator of the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center, Inc., and a member of the Philippine Institute of Arbitrators.
KQ’s practice focuses on immigration, litigation and dispute resolution, labor and employment, arbitration, and family law. She has extensive experience in civil, commercial, criminal, and labor litigation and has appeared and argued before various trial and appellate courts and quasi-judicial agencies. She has also represented clients in intra-corporate disputes, tax litigation cases, and construction arbitration disputes. KQ regularly advises clients on labor standards compliance, employment-related investigations and terminations, and employee transfers. She also handles work visa and work permit applications as well as applications for special non-immigrant and immigrant visas for foreign clients.
Representative Work
- Secured a P106,509,724.49 arbitration award in favor of a construction company against the DPWH which has been affirmed by both the Court of Appeals and Supreme Court on appeal
- Successfully defended a global manufacturing company before the Court of Tax Appeals against an almost PhP30,000,000.00 claim from the Bureau of Internal Revenue for alleged tax liabilities
- Successfully secured a reversal on appeal of a finding of alleged labor-only contracting against one of the country’s largest developer, producer, and distributor of agricultural products
- Defended the accused on appeal before the Supreme Court and successfully reversed the judgement of conviction by the Sandiganbayan and secured the acquittal of accused
