Our Firm is dedicated not only to the practice of law, but also to the promotion of social consciousness and responsibility. We believe that it is our duty to engage in programs that address pressing social issues and concerns, such as poverty, illiteracy, lack of awareness of one’s rights, and environmental problems.
EMPOWERING THE PEOPLE
Since its establishment in 2006, GSE Law Firm has consistently endeavored to extend a hand to the underprivileged through its various corporate social responsibility programs. In particular, GSE focuses in providing legal aid missions by educating community beneficiaries on legal rights and duties and addressing their legal concerns and issues.
In June 2018, GSE held its Corporate Social Responsibility Project in Aguado Elementary School, Trece Martires, Cavite. GSE, in cooperation with Wholistic Transformation Resource Center (WTRC), Visions of Hope and the Ateneo de Manila Law Alumni Association, Inc. (ALAAI), conducted legal seminars and one-on-one consultations for more than 180 adults, and play and learn activities for 160 children.
In previous years, GSE conducted similar legal aid sessions for community beneficiaries in Pasay City (May and November 2011), Diliman, Quezon City (November 2012) Muntinlupa City (June 2014), Payatas, Quezon City (June 2015) and Marikina City (July 2015) in partnership with different groups, such as WTRC, ALAAI, Community Waterhope Foundation, Inc., the Center for Community Transformation, Rags 2 Riches, Public Attorney’s Office and the AFP’s 105th Technical and Administrative Service Group Reservist Command.
GSE has likewise been active in providing fun activities to less privileged children through visits to Museo Pambata and Manila Zoo (December 2009) and Ark Avilon Zoo (June 2013). In December 2017, an outreach program was held at the Boys’ Home of the Manila Boystown Complex.
“GO GREEN” INITIATIVE
In the beginning of 2016, the Firm pledged to be a more socially and environmentally responsible organization with sustainable practices that protect and preserve our natural resources. We are shifting towards a “paperless” system to reduce the carbon footprint and impact of our Firm’s daily operations on the environment.
By going “paperless,” we are hoping to limit the use of paper, reduce overall resource consumption, and minimize our contribution to the growing waste disposal problem. This endeavor will also increase our productivity and promote cost efficiency since charges for paper, printing and transportation to deliver printed documents will be greatly reduced, if not eliminated.
The Firm implemented a policy of sending status reports, transmittals, copies of pleadings and other documents to its clients via email to reduce its use of paper.
The Firm is also driven to instill the importance of environmental protection and awareness to its employees and staff.
In June 2019, the Firm went to the La Mesa Nature Reserve in Fairview, Quezon City for a tree-planting activity. The members of the Firm trekked 7-kilometers to and from the planting site and planted close to 400 Cupang and Malapapaya saplings over a one-hectare area within the Reserve.
The Firm hopes that the saplings will one day become big contributors to the preservation of the last forest in Metro Manila and, ultimately, the environment.
In 2016, the Firm did an environmental awareness trip to Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
The Firm continues to develop projects, plans and means towards a kinder and greener environment.
