Vanessa C. Raymundo-Uy
Vanessa C. Raymundo-Uy is part of the Firm’s Corporate and Tax Practice Groups. Her primary practice areas are foreign investments, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings and taxation.
Vanec has extensive experience dealing with foreign investments, financing, estate planning, mergers and acquisitions, corporate organization and restructuring involving various industries such as real estate, gaming, telecommunications, energy and power, among others. Her work includes setting-up of various corporate entities and advising clients regarding complex commercial transactions. She likewise regularly advises and assists clients in protesting tax assessments, tax planning, securing applications for confirmatory rulings, entering into compromise settlements, claiming tax refunds and applying for tax treaty reliefs.
She represents clients before various government agencies such as the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Securities and Exchange Commission, Philippine Economic Zone Authority, Board of Investments, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, Bases Conversion and Development Authority, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, and various local government units. She also sits as a member of the Board of Directors and acts as Corporate Secretary and officer of various corporations.
Her law career started in 2008 as a Senior Associate in the International Tax Affairs Division of SGV & Co., a member firm of Ernst & Young. She joined the Firm in 2010. She was a faculty member of the San Beda College of Law from June 2009 to March 2015.
Vanec obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines in 2003 where she graduated Cum Laude. She obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree from San Beda College in 2008 where she ranked fourth in the graduating class. Vanec was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2009 where she ranked tenth.
