Raul G. Gerodias
Raul G. Gerodias is Founding Partner, Chairman of the Executive Committee, and Head of the Corporate Practice Group of the Firm. He was Managing Partner from its inception in January 2006 to December 2015. Raul’s primary practice areas are foreign investments, mergers and acquisitions, and estate and financial planning.
With extensive exposure to various areas of corporate and commercial law, Raul has developed expertise in investments, corporate organization and restructuring, joint venture negotiations, mergers and acquisitions, information technology, securities, real estate transactions, and estate and financial planning. He has provided comprehensive advice and represented several publicly listed companies, multinational companies, and numerous other domestic and foreign clients, in local and cross-border transactions.
Raul represents clients before various quasi-judicial and administrative agencies such as the Securities and Exchange Commission, Philippine Stock Exchange, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, Board of Investments, Philippine Economic Zone Authority, Department of Trade and Industry, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Department of Finance and Intellectual Property Office, among other agencies.
Raul sits as a member of the Board of Directors, and acts as Corporate Secretary and/or officer of various corporations.
Raul started his law career in 1989 as an associate in PECABAR Law followed by a brief stint with the Tax Division of SGV & Co. Prior to founding the Firm, he was a Senior Name Partner at De Borja Medialdea Bello Guevarra & Gerodias (BMBGG).
Raul obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the Ateneo de Manila University in 1984. He then received his degree in Bachelor of Laws also from Ateneo de Manila University in 1988. In 1998, he obtained his Master of Laws from the University of Pennsylvania. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1989.
