Herbert B. Hernane
Herbert B. Hernane is a member of the Litigation and Labor Practice Groups of the Firm. His primary practice areas are civil, commercial, criminal, and labor litigation.
Bert has extensive experience in the various fields of litigation involving commercial and family disputes and handles criminal cases, both as private prosecutor and defense counsel. He represents clients in all stages of civil, criminal and administrative proceedings, and has appeared in several quasi-judicial bodies. Bert likewise advises and assists clients to address varied issues on employee compensation and benefits, collective bargaining negotiations, and general employment matters.
Bert regularly appears before trial courts, the Court of Tax Appeals, and various administrative and quasi-judicial bodies, such as the Department of Labor and Employment, National Labor Relations Commission, the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board, and the Professional Regulations Commission.
His law career started in the Litigation Department of Kapunan Garcia & Castillo Law Offices, where he was promoted to Senior Associate in 2011. He joined the Firm in 2013.
Bert received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Santo Tomas in 2003 prior to obtaining his Bachelor of Laws degree from San Beda College in 2008. Bert was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2009.
