Grace Patricia W. Vilchez-Custodio
Grace Patricia W. Vilchez-Custodio heads the Firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group and is a member of the Corporate Practice Group. Her primary practice areas are intellectual property; corporate organization, foreign investment and special registrations; mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructuring; real estate transactions; telecommunications, media and technology; taxation.
Grace leads the Firm’s intellectual property law practice focusing on intellectual property registration and protection. She likewise regularly advises and assists foreign companies with their investment requirements including setting up corporate entities, performing comprehensive due diligence, and advising on licensing and regulatory matters. Her practice extends to various areas of corporate and commercial law such as real estate transactions, restructuring, and estate and financial planning.
Grace represents clients before various government agencies such as the Intellectual Property Office, Securities and Exchange Commission, Philippine Economic Zone Authority, Board of Investments, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board and Registry of Deeds, among other agencies. She also sits as a member of the Board of Directors and acts as Corporate Secretary and officer of various corporations. Grace is the Firm Representative to the Intellectual Property Association of the Philippines (IPAP).
She started her law career as an Associate of the Corporate Department of Picazo Buyco Tan Fider & Santos Law in 2001. She was a member of the Corporate Department of BMBGG Law prior to joining the Firm in 2006.
Grace obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Management from the Ateneo de Manila University in 1996 and her Juris Doctor degree also from Ateneo de Manila University in 2000. She was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2001.
