Cheryl S. Saldana-De Leon
Cheryl S. Saldana-de Leon heads the Firm’s Securities Practice Group. She is also part of the Corporate Practice Group. Her primary practice areas are securities, capital markets, project development, mining, and renewable energy.
Loy leads projects involving the registration of securities, initial and follow-on public offerings, regulatory compliance of listed companies, and capital market transactions. She represents both domestic and foreign clients regarding acquisitions and project development in the mining, renewable energy, and gaming sectors. Loy regularly advises clients in all legal aspects of transactions involving acquisitions by way of mergers, consolidations, asset and share purchase arrangements, private and public placements, and corporate restructuring and reorganization.
She represents clients before various government agencies such as the Philippine Stock Exchange, Securities and Exchange Commission, Intellectual Property Office, Bureau of Internal Revenue, and various local government units. She also sits as a member of the Board of Directors and acts as Corporate Secretary and compliance officer of various corporations.
She started her law career as a Junior Associate of the Corporate Department of De Borja Medialdea Bello Guevarra & Gerodias (BMBGG) in 2005 prior to joining the Firm in 2006.
Loy obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the Ateneo de Manila University in 1999 and her Juris Doctor degree, with Honors, also from Ateneo de Manila University in 2004. Loy was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2005.
